Sri Lanka, an island nation renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural tapestry. This year's decision to explore a new locale within a region previously unvisited by our program is driven by the desire to offer fresh, inspiring experiences.

Sri Lanka, with its vibrant diversity and unique blend of influences, stands out as an ideal destination that promises to enrich our understanding of organisational design through its dynamic cultural and economic landscape and allow allows for connection with self and others given the unique experiences for individual development. Some of the reasons we’re excited to visit the island:

🌱 Spirituality: Sri Lanka is a very spiritual place, grounded in Buddhism (70% of population). The culture is friendly and open, yet also modest and conservative. People greet each other with palms in prayer position, saying ‘ayubowan’ (wishing the other a long life).

🌱 Globalization: From a multinational standpoint, Sri Lanka's strategic location at the crossroads of major shipping routes in the Indian Ocean makes it a significant player in global trade. Its economy is marked by a blend of traditional industries and emerging sectors, providing a fertile ground for studying organisational structures in varied contexts. The country's recent economic reforms and investment in infrastructure have also made it an attractive hub for multinational companies seeking to establish a presence in South Asia. This environment offers our participants an opportunity to explore and analyse diverse organisational dynamics.

🌱 Culture:  Sri Lanka's rich cultural heritage encompasses a harmonious coexistence of multiple ethnicities and religions, offering a unique setting for fostering intercultural connections. The country is famed for its warm hospitality, making it an excellent place to build and strengthen relationships.

The island boasts numerous wellness retreats, yoga centres, and Ayurveda resorts, promoting holistic well-being.
